Mayank Yadav, who was initially recovering from a back injury at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, was expected to return in the first half of April. However, LSG head coach Justin Langer revealed that Mayank suffered a toe infection, delaying his comeback. He is now expected to be available only in the final week of the IPL 2025 season.

Langer shared the update, stating, "Mayank... he kicked his toe on the bed. He got an infection in his toe. It's put his rehab back about a week or two weeks. But he's up and running. We regularly see videos of him bowling."

LSG's Squad and Expectations

Despite the injury challenges, LSG boasts a strong squad. Led by Rishabh Pant, who was signed for a record amount, the team includes players like Nicholas Pooran, Mitchell Marsh, and Aiden Markram. While the injury to Mayank Yadav is undoubtedly a blow, the team will be looking to its other players to step up and deliver.
